Fresh rock 'n roll, powerful grooves and catchy choruses! The 5 AM is a musical experience that takes you on a journey through the groovy basslines of funk rock, the raw energy of grunge, and the timeless power of classic rock and rock ’n roll. With influences from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s and inspired by bands like The Rolling Stones, Humble Pie, Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lenny Kravitz, and more recent acts like Rival Sons and The Cold Stares, they deliver an explosive mix of danceable grooves, catchy choruses and gripping guitar riffs that appeal to a broad audience.
Lead singer and rhythm guitarist Christophe Eggen, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Erik Laureyssens, bassist and backing vocalist Thomas Nicolai, and drummer Alexis Armoa fuse their diverse musical backgrounds into a unique and original sound. Their repertoire consists of original songs that make you dance, sing along, and above all, feel why rock is still alive today.

The 5 AM gained international attention with two songs featured in a Hollywood film starring Amber Rose, Shelly Regner (Pitch Perfect, Disney Acapella), and Alix Kermis (Gilmore Girls), and one of their tracks included in the Amazon Prime series New Dogs, Old Tricks. They performed at the 69th Cannes Film Festival and – to everyone’s surprise – their song Runnin' Runnin' made it onto the shortlist for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
In Belgium, The 5 AM made national headlines with a spectacular live show performed from the country’s largest hot air balloon, together with Praga Khan.
The American music platform ReverbNation.com featured the Belgian band on their front page, praising their do-it-yourself approach. Frontview Magazine lauded the band for their songwriting quality, on-stage joy, and high entertainment value.
In October 2024, the band began recording their new album Big Lights City, laying down 13 tracks at Rockstar Studios in Niel in collaboration with Guido Maes. After Guido’s passing during the recording process, Cyrille Obermuller stepped in as mixing engineer, with mastering by Frederik Dejongh (Jerboa), final mix and mastering done by François Michaud of Wild Horse Studio ((Phoenix/Cassius/Daft Punk/Beastie Boys). The album is set to launch Saturday, the 7th of February 2026.

In oktober 2024 is de opname van nieuw album 'Big Lights City' gestart. 13 songs worden opgenomen in de Rockstar Studio's te Niel in samenwerking met Guido Maes. Na het overlijden van Guido tijdens de opnames zet Cyrille Obermuller zijn schouders onder het album als Mixing Engineer en de finale Mix en Mastering werd onder handen genomen door Frederik Dejongh (Jerboa) en François Michaud van Wild Horse Studio ((Phoenix/Cassius/Daft Punk/Beastie Boys). De lancering nieuw album staat gepland voor Zaterdag 07 Februari 2026 in de Skybar van Het Mas te Antwerpen.
